Been a busy couple days, finalizing the suspension bits, working on the new steering rack which did require some brackets and a couple trips to the local performance shop for parts. I think that it came out pretty good, I shouldn't have any problems adjusting and tuning the steering rack since I added a couple threaded holes in the main plate that will adjust the rack vertically to match the lower control arms, plus the racks horizontal position can be adjusted with spacers.

Back on all fours
Yesterday was quite exciting with the car, I was able to get all the suspension complete and got the tires bolted onto the car. Still a couple things that need to be completed though, swaybars still need to be mounted which include getting the links to complete it and the new steering rack needs to be figured out and mounted. Hopefully today I'll be getting the link pieces and be able to complete the swaybars but I need to focus on another possible problem with the engine and the frame.
Engine is back in its home
Just a quick update, last night I was able to mount the engine in the rear cradle and bolt that into the chassis, everything went well, had a couple alignment issues of the rear bolts, might run into a problem with the height of the engine and the welded in tower bar frame........will find out when I mount the other two engine mounts and see how close it all gets.
Continuing the front suspension assembly
Just a quick picture update, started putting in all the front suspension components, ran into a problem with my steering rack as it was extremely corroded around the rubber bushings so I'm going to have to go a different way for that. I'm hoping to clean the engine in the next couple days and get that installed in to the car, then I can start putting the rear suspension together.
Putting the puzzle all back together
Started putting the car together last night, didn't spend too much time on it, just long enough to bolt in the front suspension subframe and the upper coilover brackets. I did get a bunch of new fasteners to put it back together, I figured why use rusty 25+ year old bolts on such a shiny new car......didn't think that M12 bolts would cost so much, kinda blew my mind when I started looking at prices and availability.
Back to Black
Very big day today, the chassis is finally painted, it was supposed to be satin black but due to poor advice I didn't have enough paint so I had to locate another paint locally that I could get very quickly, the paint that I used to paint the main chassis is "chassis saver" high gloss black, unfortunately the shop that I grabbed it from didn't have the satin black in stock......right now I don't care, the car is painted and I couldn't be happier.
The smaller frames and pieces are painted with Eastwoods chassis extreme black paint, they still need another coat, as well I might toss another layer or the gloss paint in various different places on Sunday.
